Alright, listen up!
I see too many walking around talking about wanting to be the “boss.” You want the corner office, the title, the respect. But you’ve got it all twisted! You’re chasing a position when you should be building your INFLUENCE!
Let me ask you a question. In your organization, on your team, in your own house… are you a THERMOMETER or are you a THERMOSTAT?
See, a thermometer just reflects the temperature in the room. If it’s negative, it’s negative. If people are complaining, it complains right along with them. It just tells you what IS. A thermometer offers no solutions, no change, no fire! It just blends in.
But a THERMOSTAT? A thermostat sets the temperature. A thermostat walks into a room full of negativity, doubt, and excuses and says, “NOT ON MY WATCH!” A real leader dictates the environment. They don’t just adapt to the culture; they CREATE the culture! When the energy is low, they ARE the energy!
You think leadership is about being first in line? It’s about being the FIRST to serve and the LAST to eat! Your team’s success is your success. But their failure? That’s YOUR failure. Period.
When things go right, a real leader steps back and pushes their team into the spotlight. But when things go wrong, they step UP and say, “That’s on me. Here’s how we’re going to fix it.” Stop worrying about your shine and start worrying about your people’s growth. Pour into them, build them up, and fight for them! That’s how you earn real loyalty.
So I’m going to ask you again. Stop waiting for someone to hand you a title. The world is full of bosses, but it is starving for LEADERS.
Step up! Set the tone! Take the blame, give the credit, and serve your people. The leader is in you, but you’ve gotta be hungry enough to unleash it.
Now go lead!
